Honoring our fallen law enforcement is not just about a single day. It is an ongoing commitment to recognize the service of these dedicated individuals and support their families. With the Guardian Blend, we pay special tribute to the late Sgt. Philip Dale Nix (EOW: December 30, 2023) a police officer, husband, father. and friend who made it his purpose to protect and support his community at every step. Sgt. Nix was a Greensboro native who served the Greensboro Police Department for 22 years. Most recently, he acted as the Detective Sergeant of the Family Victims Unit, bringing his all to the position to ensure justice for victims of abuse. 

Sgt. Nix is remembered not only as a loyal and devoted man, but also as an avid coffee drinker by friends, family, and coworkers, who came to Fortuna with an idea to honor his memory using one of his favorite things. We are deeply honored to be able to contribute to Sgt. Nix's memory with his very own coffee, the Guardian Blend, featuring his often-used mantra, "It's us against the world." 

Let's raise our mugs to Sergeant Philip Dale Nix, a true guardian who embodied dedication, bravery, and compassion in his unwavering commitment to the Greensboro community and all who knew him.
